The Coral Love Project is the result of a collaboration the Horniman Museum and Gardens — specifically, their magical coral lab tucked inside a Victorian natural history museum in South London.
The project encompases a Zine and Participatry Community Workshop that was facilitated during the Horniman Lates in June 2025.
Inside the pages of the zine , you’ll find behind the scenes at the Horniman Museum aquarium, excerpts from interviews with coral researchers, underwater crushes, crosswords, reflections on larvae and lust, and a deep dive into the research that is sparkling new ways of caring, feeling, and relating — even in the face of change.
Working alongside the Horniman Staff, we were invited not just to observe coral science — but to feel with it, think with it, and create from it.
Showcased at the Horniman Lates and discussed further at Love as a Method, a symposium. The event is part of the Horniman’s Nature + Love programme and gathers artists, scientists, designers, policy makers, and educators, and more to ask:
How do we build care in a world of complexity and change?

Beyond Best Before is a recipe zine and community initiative aimed at reducing food waste among Gen Z and Millennials in London. With 29% of food discarded due to confusion around best-before labels, our project reimagines food that’s ‘past its date’ as a site for creativity and care.
Through a mix of literature reviews, expert interviews (with RCA Environmental Sustainability Team and RCA Dye Lab Team), recipe testing, and material experiments, we developed a playful, practical zine that encourages confidence in sensing, educates about food waste, and inspires mindful moments at home. We used biomaterials like powdered orange peel to design the cover and coasters, making sustainability tactile and fun.
Our process included a group meal with recipes, edible paper, and honest conversations, bringing together diverse voices from across food and design.
